パリでノートルダム大聖堂にも行った。
水曜日だったから、全然忙しくなかった!待つ時間がなかった。
協会の中で写真はフラッシュ無しだけで撮られた。外は明るかったから、写真を撮るのは大体出来た。
その後は協会の右へ歩いて庭に入った。ここも武器を持っている兵士が歩いていた。

In Parijs gingen we ook naar de Notre Dame. Omdat het woensdag was, was het helemaal niet druk en konden we zo doorlopen naar binnen.
Binnen mocht je wel foto’s maken zonder flits. Aangezien het midden op de dag was, zijn de foto’s nog wel redelijk gelukt!
Daarna zijn we rechts langs de kerk gelopen, de tuinen in. Hier liepen ook soldaten.

In Paris we also visited the Notre Dame church. Because it was a Wednesday, it wasn’t busy at all and we didn’t have to wait in line!
Inside, you were allowed to take photos without flash. As it was the middle of the day, it was quite light inside the church.
After that, we walked into the church gardens besides/behind the Notre Dame. There were also soldiers walking around here.

パリのエッフェル塔／Eiffeltoren (Parijs) / Eiffel tower (Paris)

パリで勿論エッフェル塔にも行った!
エッフェル塔の回りでセキュリティーがとても高かった:カバンをチェックして、ボトル(飲み物と日やけ止めのボトル）は全然ダメだった（何も入ってなかったボトルもダメだった）。そして高い柵もあった。
エッフェル塔の真ん中で大きなサッカーのボールがあった。次の週末で欧州サッカー選手権があるから。
勿論エッフェル塔の一番高いレベルは先に行った（エレベーターで）。真ん中のレベルで一時の庭があった。

In Parijs bezochten we natuurlijk ook de Eiffeltoren! Rondom de Eiffeltoren was een groot security-bouwwerk neergezet: tassencontroles (je mocht geen flesjes drinken/zonnebrand mee naar binnen nemen, zelfs geen lege flesjes) en hoge hekken.
In het midden van de Eiffeltoren hing ook een grote voetbal, vanwege het EK voetbal het volgende weekend.
We hebben alledrie de niveaus bezocht. We begonnen natuurlijk op het hoogste niveau. In het midden was een niveau waar ze nu een tijdelijke tuin neer hadden gezet.

In Paris we visited the Eiffel tower as well, of course! Around the Eiffel tower there was a lot of security: bag checks (you were not allowed to bring bottles containing drinks or sun screen, not even empty bottles) and high fences.
In the center of the Eiffel tower they had hung a large football, because of the soccer European Championships which would take place the weekend after.
We visited all three levels of the Eiffel tower, of course starting at the highest level. On one of the lower levels they had built a temporary garden.

8日には彼氏と一緒に1日パリへ行った。朝の６.１５時のタリスと言う高速列車でアムステルダムからパリ
へ出発した。3時間半後、パリ北駅で着いた。夕べの17時半ぐらいアムステルダムへ帰った。
この1日でパリの色んな所で観光した。
セーヌ川が前の週末で6メートル高くなったから、川の隣の地下鉄は走らなかった。他の地下鉄は走った。
パリの全部でセキュリティーが高かった。電車と地下鉄の駅の入り・出口でカバンのチェックがあった。タリスの駅で空港と同じカバンのスキャナーがあった。
そして色んな道で武器を持っている兵士が歩いた。

Op 8 juni ging ik samen met mijn vriend een dagje naar Parijs. Echt een dagje: we namen de eerste Thalys-trein die om 6.15 uur vertrok vanaf Amsterdam Centraal en kwamen ongeveer 3,5 uur later aan op Gare du Nord. ‘s Avonds namen we om ongeveer half zes de Thalys terug naar Amsterdam vanaf hetzelfde station.
In de tussentijd zijn we half Parijs doorgewandeld en hebben we meerdere plaatsen bezocht.
Omdat de Seine het weekend ervoor 6 meter hoger stond dan normaal (ondertussen was het water weer redelijk gezakt), reden de metrolijnen direct langs de rivier dus niet.
In heel Parijs was er extra beveiliging. Bij de trein- en metrostations was er bijvoorbeeld tassencontrole bij een aantal in- en uitgangen. Op het treinstation bij de Thalys stonden tassenscanners zoals je die ook op vliegvelden ziet.
En op straat liepen ook soldaten rond (met vuurwapens).

On June 8th I went to Paris for a day with my boyfriend. We took the first Thalys train which left from Amsterdam Central Station at 6.15 AM and about 3.5 hours later we arrived at the Paris station Gare du Nord. At half past five in the evening we took the train back to Amsterdam.
In the meantime we walked through Paris and visited several places.
Because the water level of the Seine river had risen 6 meters in the weekend before (now the water level had gone down again), the metro lines next to the river weren’t running. The other metro lines did run.
In the entire city of Paris, there was also extra security. At the entrances and exits of the train and metro stations, security people checked everyone’s bags. At the Thalys station, there was bag scanners like you also see at airports.
And in some streets there also were soldiers walking around (with guns).

寿司ワークショップ / Sushi-workshop

2週間前、友達と一緒にタジ・ザ・シェフの寿司ワークショップに行った。「にぎり」か「まき」が作れた。私と友達は巻き寿司を作った。下の絵で作り方を描いた。私の前の作り方と違う!
切った後は全部たべた！とても美味しかったから、皆で何分に全部食べた・・・!

Twee weken geleden volgde ik samen met een vriendin een sushi-workshop. Je kon “nigiri” (rijstballetjes met iets erbovenop) of “maki” (rijst gerold in zeewier met iets ertussen) maken. De workshop werd gegeven door Taji the Chef.
Wij hadden maki gemaakt. Ik heb hieronder getekend hoe we de maki maakten. Wel anders dan hoe ik normaal sushi maak! Van de vierkante velletjes nori (zeewier) die je in de winkel kan kopen, had Taji eerst rechthoeken gemaakt. Daarop spreidde je dan de rijst uit (niet te dik, met een randje vrij aan de lange kant). Op de rijst kon je zalm, paling, of komkommer leggen. Je rolde het met de hand op, daarna drukte je de rol met een bamboematje wat vierkanter. Daarna snijden en opeten! Alles was erg snel op natuurlijk, want het smaakte goed 🙂

Two weeks ago I followed a sushi workshop together with a friend. You could choose between making “nigiri” (rice balls with something on top) or “maki” (rice rolled in seaweed with something inbetween). The workshop was given by Taji the Chef.
We made maki. Below, I drew the way we made the maki. This is different from the way I made sushi before! First, Taji had made the square nori into rectangles. You had to put the rice on the nori (not too much), leaving a bit of nori on the long side free. Then we put salmon, eel or cucumber onto the rice. You rolled it by hand, then used a bamboo mat to make the roll a bit more square. After that you cut the maki and then we could eat! Everything was gone very quickly, as it tasted delicious 🙂

ヨーセフ協会でメデューサ合唱部のコンサート / Medusa-concert in de Josephkerk (Utrecht) / Medusa concert in the Joseph church in Utrecht

5月14日（土曜日）にはメデューサ合唱部でユトレヒトのヨーセフ協会で歌った。とても綺麗な教会だった！写真で少し見える。ミュージカルとオペラの色んな歌を歌った。レ・ミゼラブルの「オン・マイ・オウン」は下のビデオで聞こえる。携帯でレコードをしたから、音がそんなに綺麗じゃないけど・・・次のコンサートでまた綺麗な音でレコードする！

Zaterdagmiddag 14 mei was het tryoutconcert in de Josephkerk van mijn koor Medusa. De Josephkerk (Wikipedia, kerksite) was een erg mooie locatie om te zingen! Op de foto’s kun je er iets van zien, maar in het echt ziet de kerk er natuurlijk veel mooier uit 🙂
Hier zongen we een groot deel van ons zomerconcertrepertoire, waaronder “On my own” uit Les Misérables. De opname van “On my own” kun je hieronder beluisteren. De akoestiek klonk, volgens reacties uit het publiek, erg mooi. Bij het zomerconcert (vrijdagavond 17 juni) zullen we weer een heldere opname kunnen maken, maar onderstaand filmpje geeft wel een indruk!

Saturday afternoon May 14th, my choir Medusa gave a concert in the Joseph church in Utrecht. It was a very beautiful location for singing! You can see a bit of the church on the photos and in the movie/photo slideshow below, but in real life it looks much prettier, of course 🙂 We sang a lot of songs from musicals and operas, among them “On my own” from Les Misérables. The recording was made using a mobile phone, so it’s not that great in quality. At the summer concert we’ll make a better recording 🙂
