京都・嵐山の渡月橋／De Togetsukyou-brug in Arashiyama, Kyoto / The Togetsukyou bridge in Arashiyama, Kyoto

バスで嵐山に行って、渡月橋の近くでバス停がある。
橋の近くで、沢山のお土産屋がある！そしてアイスクリームと他のお菓子も買える。

Wij gingen met de bus naar Arashiyama en de bus stopt vlakbij deze beroemde brug, de “Togetsukyou-brug“.
In de buurt zijn superveel souvenirswinkeltjes te vinden, maar je kan er natuurlijk ook ijsjes en andere lekkernijen kopen (daarover de volgende keer meer)!

We went to Arashiyama by bus and the bus stop was very close to this famous bridge, the “Togetsukyou bridge“.
You can find many souvenir shops in the neighbourhood, but you can also buy icecream and other sweets (more on those next time)!

京都の嵐山の「竹林の道」／ Het bamboebos in Arashiyama, Kyoto / The bamboo grove in Arashiyama, Kyoto

嵐山の天竜寺の隣りに、竹林の道がある。川から歩いたら、竹林の道は天竜寺の後ろにある。
写真にクリックして、グーグルマップで見える。

Naast de Tenryuu-tempel in Arashiyama (aan de westkant van Kyoto) ligt het “bamboe-bospad“.
Klik op de foto’s voor de exacte locatie op Googlemaps. Als je vanaf de rivier komt, moet je dus voorbíj de Tenryuu-ji (tempel) lopen om bij de ingang van het bamboepad te komen, je hoeft de tempel dus niet binnen te gaan.

Next to the Tenryuu temple in Arashiyama (on the west side of Kyoto) there’s the “bamboo grove path“.
Click on the photos for the exact location on Googlemaps. When you start at the river, you have to pass the Tenryuu temple to read the entrance of the bamboo path (you don’t have to enter the temple).

京都の「ガレリアパート」／ “Galleriapart” in Kyoto

東京でトゲピーは見つけにくいポケモンだったから、まだ探していた・・・
京都でレストランを探すときに、こんな「ガレリアパート」と言うお店を見た。
中にはアニメのフィギュアがあるから、多分トゲピーもあるかも知れないと思った・・・
フィギュアは全部、箱無しで売っていたけど、トゲピーがあった！

In Tokyo was het nog best lastig om Togepi te vinden, dus ik was nog steeds wel op zoek…
Toen we in Kyoto naar een restaurant aan het zoeken waren, zagen we ineens de winkel “Galleriapart“.
Binnenin stonden allemaal poppetjes van anime-series, dus misschien hadden ze ook wel een Togepi…
Alle poppetjes werden verkocht zonder doos, maar ze hadden inderdaad een Togepi!

In Tokyo it was quite difficult to find a Togepi, so I was still on the look-out for another one…
When we were walking through Kyoto to find a nice restaurant, we suddenly saw a store called “Galleriapart“.
Inside, they sold many figures of anime series, so maybe they’d also have a Togepi…
All figures on sale did not have boxes anymore, but they did have a Togepi!

京都の「有喜屋 先斗町本店」レストラン／Restaurant “Ukiya” in Pontocho (Kyoto)

今まで、京都で一番美味しいレストランは「有喜屋」！！
お団子は日本語のメニューだけであった・・・とっても美味しかった！

Het allerlekkerste restaurant waar we tot nu toe hebben gegeten in Kyoto, is “Ukiya“!!
Ze hadden een Engels menu, maar de odango (rechtsonder op de foto) stonden bijvoorbeeld alleen maar op het Japanse menu. Die waren echt zo, zo lekker! Dit restaurant is het zeker waard om naar toe te gaan.

Up till now, the best restaurant we’ve visited in Kyoto is by far “Ukiya“!!
They do have an English menu, but the odango (bottom right photo) could only be found on the Japanese menu. They were super delicious! This restaurant is certainly worth a visit.

京都の先斗町／ Pontocho (Kyoto)

夕べには先斗町で歩いて、色んな美味しいレストランを見つけた。

In Kyoto liepen we een paar keer ‘s avonds door de wijk Pontocho, waar we in een aantal zeer lekkere restaurantjes hebben gegeten!

When walking around in the evening in Pontocho streets in Kyoto, we came across several very good restaurants!

京都のディズニーストア／Disney Store Kyoto

京都でもディズニーストアがあるのも知らなかった！
お店の中はとても綺麗だった。原宿のディズニーストアよりも大きい。

Ik wist ook niet dat er een Disney Store in Kyoto was!
De winkel zag er vanbinnen erg mooi uit en was ook groter dan die in Harajuku (Tokyo).

I also didn’t know there’s a Disney Store in Kyoto!
The inside of the store looks very pretty and it was also larger than the one in Harajuku (Tokyo).

京都のレストラン「お好み焼き 町や」／ Restaurant “Okonomiyaki Machiya” in Kyoto

京都駅で「お好み焼き　町や」と言うレストランを見つけた。
お昼ご飯で、美味しい焼きそばを食べた。

Toen we naar een restaurantje zochten om te lunchen in Kyoto Station, kwamen we terecht bij “Okonomiyaki Machiya“.
We hebben hier hele lekkere yakisoba gegeten!

When we were looking for a restaurant to eat lunch at Kyoto Station, we came across “Okonomiyaki Machiya“.
We ate delicious yakisoba here!

京都の「お好み焼きやすべえ」／ Restaurant “Okonomiyaki Yasubee” in Kyoto

京都にあるいて、先斗町で美味しいお好み焼きのレストラン「やすべえ」を見つけた。

Terwijl we rondliepen in Kyoto, kwamen we in de wijk Pontocho het okonomiyaki-restaurant “Yasubee” tegen waar ze superlekkere okonomiyaki bakken!

京都のホテル「サン・クレイン」／ Kyoto hotel “San Crane”

京都に行った時、ホテル「サン・クレイン」に泊った。
部屋でホテルのWIFIにつながれなかったから、部屋で自分のWIFIを貰った！
お風呂も広かった。
部屋で貰ったお茶もとても美味しかった。
朝ご飯は外で食べた。

In Kyoto verbleven we in hotel San Crane. Omdat in onze kamer de hotel-wifi het niet goed deed, kregen we onze eigen privé-wifi!
De badkamer was lekker ruim en de thee die we in onze kamer hadden, was ook heel erg lekker.
Ontbijt hebben we echter buiten het hotel gegeten.

In Kyoto, we stayed in hotel San Crane. Because the hotel wifi didn’t work very well in our room, we got our own private wifi!
The bathroom was quite large and the tea that was available in our room, was also very delicious.
However, we ate breakfast outside of the hotel.
