アイルランド（その4）/ Ireland (part 4)

8月1日（土）：
リムリックから11時半のバスに乗った。15時15分ぐらいダブリンに着いた。バスから見た景色はそんなに面白くなかったから、写真撮らなかった。ダブリンの駅で「観光案内所はどこですか」と聞いた。観光案内所で「安いホテルはどこですか」と聞いた。行ったホテルから駅も街の真ん中も遠くない。ホテルの部屋で紅茶を飲んだ後、ダブリンに歩いた。スーパーで夕ご飯を買った。沢山の小さな本屋さんもあった。夕べで新しい本を読んだ。

August 1st (Saturday):
We went on the 11.30 AM bus from Limerick and arrived around 15.15 PM in Dublin. The scenery we could see from the bus wasn’t that interesting, so I didn’t take any photos. At the station in Dublin we asked where the Tourist Information was. At the Tourist Information, we asked where a cheap hotel was. The hotel we went to wasn’t far from both the station and the city centre. After having drunk a cup of tea in our hotel room, we went walking in Dublin. At the supermarket we bought dinner and there were also many little bookshops. In the evening we read books for a while.

8月2日（日）:
7時半に起きた。ホテルの朝ご飯は大きくて美味しかった！コーンフレーク、ポーチドエッグ、パン（日本で買えるパンとアイルランドの普通のパン；オランダのパンと同じような）、アイルランドのバター、オレンジジュース、紅茶。朝ご飯の後、ダブリンの中に歩きに行った。今日は下の写真を撮った。ダブリン城の外で砂の像があった（写真３）。その後トリニティ・カレッジ (ダブリン大学)に歩いた。図書館で博物館があった。古い有名な本が見た、例えばケルズの書。そして・・・アイルランドの一番古いハープも見た!!!写真が撮れなかったけど、インターネットで写真がある（例えばここ）。29本の弦のハープでした。ロゼッタ・ストーンもトリニティ・カレッジにあった。思ったよりも大きかった。ストーンにあるギリシャ語が読めた。
彼氏がオランダ語のインフォメーションのパンフレットで4つの間違いを見つけてお店の人で言った。私が日本語版も見ようと思った。日本語のパンフレットでも１つの間違いがあった（何のが覚えてないけど、簡単な事だった・・・）。
4時まで街の中に歩いた。その時、ホテルで紅茶とクッキーを飲んだ/食べた。その後また街に歩いた。夕ご飯はレストランで食べようと思った。面白いレストランを探しに行った。日本料理のレストランに決めた。私が寄せ鍋とご飯、ライムと抹茶ジェリーとアイスと小豆を食べた。彼氏は野菜うどんと野菜天ぷら、アイス（抹茶、黒ごま、知らない味）を食べた。もちろんお茶（抹茶）も飲んだ。食べ物は美味しかった！彼氏もそう思った。レストランを入るとき、彼氏はお箸で食べれなかった。後で、お箸を使えた。私が日本語を話した。彼氏が始めて私の日本語を聞いた。
夕べでホテルのロビーで紅茶を飲んだ。

August 2nd (Sunday):
We got up at half past 7. The breakfast in the hotel was large and delicious! Cornflakes, poached eggs, bread (like Japanese bread and normal bread), Irish butter, orange juice and tea. After breakfast we went walking in Dublin. Today I took the photos below. Outside Dublin Castle were sand statues (photo 3). After that we went to Trinity College, where the museum was in the library. We saw old and famous books, namely the Book of Kells. We also saw Ireland’s oldest harp. I couldn’t take photos, but there are photos on the internet (search for “Brian Boru’s harp” or “Trinity College harp”). It had 29 strings. The Rosetta Stone was also in Trinity College. It was larger than I had thought. The Greek on the stone was readable 🙂 In the Trinity College store they also sold small harps, but the one I bought in Killarney was cheaper.
Afterwards my boyfriend found four errors in the Dutch information pamphlet and told someone in the shop. I took a look at the Japanese one and found one error, but I don’t remember what it was exactly.
We walked around in the city until 4 PM, when we went back to the hotel to drink tea and eat cookies. Afterwards we went walking again. We planned to eat dinner at a restaurant, so while walking we were on the lookout for nice-looking restaurants. We decided on a Japanese one. I got yosenabe and rice, lime and green tea jelly and ice and azuki beans. My boyfriend got vegetable udon and vegetable tempura, and ice (green tea, black sesame seeds, and an unknown taste). Of course we also drank green tea. The food was delicious. When we went into the restaurant, my boyfriend couldn’t eat with chopsticks, but at the end he could use them 🙂 It was also the first time he had heard me speaking Japanese.
Back in the hotel, we drank some tea in the lobby.

８月3日（月）：
今日はジェイムソン – アイリッシュ・ウイスキーの博物館に行った。ここは２００年間でジェイムソンの製作所だったけど、今はコークで製作所がある。ダブリンの製作所は博物館に変わった。1時で1時間のツアーが始まった。始めては短いビデオを見た。その後は色んな部屋でウイスキーの作り方が見た。ツアーの後、皆がバーでウイスキーを飲めた。彼氏はウイスキーを飲んで「飲める」と言った。私は「いい匂いじゃない」と思ったけど、ウイスキーも飲んだ。そして水もいっぱい。エディンバラで飲んだスコッチ・ウイスキーは本当に美味しくなかった（お母さんとマイヴェンウィーと一緒にエディンバラでウイスキーツアーをした、でもマイヴェンウィーはウイスキーを飲まなかった）。ジェイムソンのウイスキーの味はスコッチウイスキーよりも甘かった。ウイスキーの結果：見ることが少しぼやけた、まっすぐ歩くのが出来ない感じがした（でもまっすぐ歩いた）、早く動けない感じがする（でも普通の早さで動いた）。この結果が2時間ぐらいかかった。その2時間で、昼ご飯を買いに行った（パン）。公園でパンを食べた。後はホテルへ帰った。
5時半で傘を持ってホテルを出た。沢山の雨が降った。朝/昼は晴れた。チョコレートカフェに行った。美味しいチョコレートミルクを飲んだ。夕ご飯はホテルで食べた。

August 3rd (Sunday):
Today we went to the Jameson Irish Whiskey museum. It was the factory for 200 years, but then the factory moved to Cork. The factory in Dublin is now a museum. The one-hour tour started at 1 PM. First we saw a short video. After that we saw in several rooms how the whiskey was made. At the end of the tour, everyone could get a glass of whiskey. My boyfriend drunk his and said “It’s drinkable”. I thought that it didn’t smell that nice, but I drank it too. Plus a lot of water. The Scotch whisky I drank in Edinburgh didn’t taste nice at all (together with my mother and my youngest sister we did a whisky tour in Edinburgh, but my sister didn’t drink any whisky). The Jameson whiskey’s taste was sweeter than the Scotch whisky. The effects of the whiskey were: vision got a bit blurry, I had the feeling that I couldn’t walk straight (but I could), I had the feeling that I couldn’t move fast (but I could). The effects lasted about two hours. In those two hours, we went to buy lunch (bread) and at it in a park. Afterwards we returned to the hotel.
Around half past 5 we left the hotel again with an umbrella. It was raining really much. In the morning and afternoon it had been dry. We went to a chocolate cafe, where we drank delicious chocolate milk. We ate dinner in the hotel.

8月4日（火）
11時に駅へ歩いた。バスで空港へ行った。飛行機が14時半に出発した。空港でもチョコレートカフェがあった！あそこでもチョコレートミルクを飲んだ。16時45分スキポールに着いた。彼氏の家で夕ご飯をたべた。そして私が家に帰った。

August 4th (Tuesday):
At 11 AM we walked to the station, where we got the bus for the airport. The airplane left at half past 2 PM. They also had a chocolate cafe at the airport, so we got chocolate milk there as well. At 16.45 PM we arrived at Schiphol. I ate dinner at my boyfriend’s house and then I went home.

アイルランド（その3）/ Ireland (part 3)

７月２５日にバスでシャンノンに行った。朝の１０時半にキラーニから出た。１２時半リムリックでシャンノン行きのバスに乗り換えた。次のホステルはシャンノンにあったと思った（コークのホステルから電話した）。シャンノン街に着いたけど、ホステルも何もなかった。家だけ。沢山の家。アメリカの街と似ていた。ホステルのウェブサイトで書いてあったアドレスは間違ってた。あのホステルに電話したかったけど､電話番号も間違った。そしてシャンノンからリムリックまで帰った。リムリックのビジターセンターに行った。あそこで“シャンノン”のホステルに電話された。もう行かない。あのホステルはシャンノンから４３キロ南へ･･･ビジターセンターの女性はリムリックの安いホテルを教えた。ホステルとB&nBよりも安い！駅前にあった。ホテルの部屋にカバンを置いておいてからリムリックの市内に歩いてスーパーを捜していた。夕ご飯は部屋で食べた（野菜とカップヌードル）。

On the 25th of July we went to Shannon by bus. We left Killarney at 10.30 AM. We had to transfer in Limerick (at 12.30 PM) to Shannon. We thought our next hostel would be in Shannon (we had called them from the hostel in Cork), but when we arrived in Shannon City there was nothing. No hostel. Only houses, lots of houses. It looked like an American city. The address on the hostel’s website had been wrong/misleading. We wanted to call them, but the telephone number on their website was wrong too. So we returned to Limerick, where we went to the Tourist Office. There they called the “Shannon” hostel for us, as we weren’t going there anymore. That hostel was about 43 km South of Shannon… The girl at the Tourist Office found a cheap hotel in Limerick, cheaper than the hostel and B&nB we stayed at previously. It was across the street from the train/bus station. After leaving our bags in the hotel room, we went walking around in Limerick to find a supermarket. We ate dinner in our hotel room (vegetables and noodles).

７月２７日にジョン王の城を見に行った。城の下に遺跡があった。夕ご飯後、夜のリムリックも観光した。

On the 27th of July we went to King John’s Castle. There also was an archeological site beneath the castle. In the evening (after dinner) we also walked around in Limerick.

７月２８日にリムリックの観光した。夕べに「ハリーポッターと謎のプリンス」の映画を見に行った。モハーの断崖も映画に出た（30日にあそこに行くつもりがあった）。

On the 28th of July we did more sightseeing in Limerick. In the evening we went to see “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”. The Cliffs of Moher also appeared in this movie (which we planned to go see the 30th).

７月２９日にリムリック博物館へ行った。条約の石にも歩いた。洗濯もした。
On the 29th of July we went to the Limerick Museum and to the Treaty Stone. We also did laundry.

７月３１日に雨が沢山降った。スーパーとかだけに行った。夕べに晴れたから「リバーサイドウォーク」を歩いた（川の隣）。
On the 31st of July it rained a lot. We only went to the supermarket etc. Because it had cleared up in the evening, we walked the “Riverside Walk” (just alongside the river).

アイルランド（その2）/ Ireland (part 2)

７月２１日の朝にサラトーガハウスの所有者と話した。朝ご飯は５ユーロでした。ちょっと高いと思ったから、今日だけ朝ご飯を買った。他の日に自分の朝ご飯を作ると決めた。そして朝ご飯後、スーパーでパンとかを買った。スーパーに行くときには晴れているけど、スーパーを出るときに雨が沢山降った。ちょっと待っていた（雨が少なくなるときまで）とサラトーガに帰った。お昼ご飯を食べた後キラーニ国立公園に行った。４時にB&Bから出て、８時に帰った。公園はとても奇麗な所です。ロス城も見たけど、もう５時か６時だったから入らなかった。夕ご飯は帰るとすぐに作った。

In the morning of the 21st of July we talked with the owner of the Saratoga House. Breakfast was 5 euros. A bit expensive, so we only bought breakfast there today and the other days we’d make our own breakfast. So after breakfast we went to the supermarket to buy bread. When we left for the supermarket, it was sunny, but when we wanted to leave the supermarket, it was raining a lot. So we waited a bit (till the rain had gotten a bit less) and then returned to the Saratoga House. After lunch we went to the Killarney National Park (we left at 4 PM and returned at 8 PM). The park is really beautiful. We also saw Ross Castle, but it was already closed (it was 5 or 6 PM at that time). Quickly after returning we made dinner.

７月２２日の朝ご飯前にサラトーガハウスの所有者は「今夜ここに泊まれない。他の人が来る」と言った。「ルイスハウスに帰れる」と言った。そして朝ご飯後ルイスハウスに歩いた。あそこで洗濯をした。昼にスーパーや他の店に行った。そして音楽の店で小さなハープを見つけた！

Before breakfast on the 22nd of July the owner of the Saratoga House said that we couldn’t stay there tonight and could return to the Lewis House, because other people’d be staying in our room. So after breakfast we went back to the Lewis House. There we did laundry and in the afternoon we went to the supermarket and other shops. In a music store we found a little harp!

７月２３日にルイスハウスも「朝ご飯無しのB&B」だと聞いた。B&Bの意味は「ベッドと朝ご飯」ですけど、このB&Bも朝ご飯無し！朝にも誰もいなかったから、朝ご飯後でそれを聞いた。何なのこのB&B!!B&nBです！（ベッド･アンド･ノー･ブレックファスト）。今日も市内で歩いていた。夜にも。沢山のパブがあったけど、入らなかった。

On the 23rd of July we heard that the Lewis House also was a B&B without breakfast. B&B means “Bed and Breakfast, but these should be called B&nB! (Bed and no Breakfast). But as no-one was present during breakfast, we only heard that afterwards.
We also walked around town today. In the evening as well. Even though there were quite a few pubs, we didn’t enter any.

７月２４日の朝にロス城に行った。ルイスハウスに帰ったとき､「サラトーガハウスに行って」と聞いた。「４時に大勢の人が来るから」。何で前に言わなかった??明日はキラーニから次の街に行く。またサラトーガハウスに歩いてスーツケースを部屋に置いておいてB&nBを出た。キラーニの北部に歩いた。駅の写真も撮りに行った。

In the morning of the 24th of July we went to Ross Castle. When we returned to the Lewis House, we heard we had to go back to the Saratoga House, because a large group of people would be coming to the Lewis House at 4 PM. Why didn’t they say that before?? Tomorrow we’re leaving Killarney (fortunately….). So we walked back to the Saratoga House and we left the suitcases in our room there and we left the B&nB again to go walking. This time we walked to the North of Killarney. We also walked to the train station, where I took some photos.

アイルランド（その１）/ Ireland (part 1)

７月１４日の朝に私と彼氏はアイルランドに行った。４時半･５時に起きて、スキポール空港に行って、飛行機は9｡３５時に出た。コークへ飛んでいた。空港からバスで街の真ん中にあるホステルへ行った。ホステルのキッチンでお茶を飲んだ後、コークの街に歩いた。スーパーで夕ご飯を買った。「ジャパン」と言う服の店もあった：日本にも行った（一分だけ･･･）！本屋さんでアイルランド語の小さい辞書を買った。どこでもアイルランド語の言葉を見て分からなくて意味を知りたいと思った･･･
そしてホステルで夕ご飯を作った（スパゲッティ）。その後また街に行ったけど、店は全部閉めた。写真だけを撮った。

In the morning of the 14th of July (the plane left at 9.35 AM) My boyfriend and I flew from Schiphol Airport to Cork (Ireland). After arriving at Cork Airport, we went to the hostel in the city centre by bus. There we drank a cup of tea in the hostel’s kitchen and went outside to explore the city centre. In the supermarket we bought ingredients for dinner, I bought an Irish dictionary in a bookshop (because I saw all these words I didn’t understand…), and we also went to Japan for a minute (there was a clothing store called “Japan”). Back at the hostel we cooked spaghetti and in the evening we went walking again, but all shops were closed so we only took some photos.

7月15日にブラーニー城に行った。このページの一番したにもブラーニー城の事が書いてある。英語のウィキペディアにも他の写真がある。勿論ブラーニーストーン（石）もキスした。城の回りに大きな奇麗な庭があった。

On the 15th of July we went to Blarney Castle. Of course we also kissed the Blarney Stone. Surrounding the castle is a large and beautiful garden.

ブラーニー城と庭

7月16日にコークのバター博物館に行った。アイルランドで昔からバターが作られている。今日もコークの駅に歩いて電車のチケットだいを見に行った。近くにある浜の町のコーヴへ、チケットが安い。明日コーヴに行くと決めた。今日もコーク市内に歩いた。
このページにバター博物館、ブラーニーやコーヴ（コーブ）の事が書いてある。

On the 16th of July we went to the Cork Butter Museum. We also walked to the station and saw that the train tickets to the coast town Cobh weren’t that expensive, so we decided to go there tomorrow. We’ve walked around in the city centre again today as well.

7月17日にコーヴに行った。電車で30分掛かった。コーヴは静かな街でした。市内と（石の）浜で歩いた。コーヴの博物館はスコットス教会にあった。
夕ご飯は毎日のようにホステルで食べた。食べた後ホステルのリビングルームに行った。あそこで、2人のオランダ人（高校卒業したばかりの女の子、マーグレイトとユーディット）とカナダから来た男子（マクシーム）はカードゲームをしていた。ゲーム中アメリカから来た男子（ジェイク）はリビングに入った。一緒に色んなカードゲームをした。その後、皆と一緒にアイリッシュ・パブに行こうと決めた。ジェイクとマクシームだけはビール（ギネス）を飲んだ。私と彼氏は紅茶、ユーディットはコーラとマーグレイトはファンタを飲んだ。

On the 17th of July we went to Cobh, only 30 minutes by train. We walked through the town centre (quite a quiet town) and to the (rocky) beach. The Cobh Museum was located in the Scots Church.
We ate dinner in the hostel again (as everyday). Afterwards we went to the hostel’s living room, where two Dutch girls (just graduated frmo high school, called Judith and Margreet) and a boy from Canada, Maxime, were playing a card game. During the game, Jake (a boy from America) entered the living room. He also joined in the game and we played together for a while. Afterwards we went to an Irish pub together. Only Jake and Maxime drank beer though, me and my boyfriend drank tea, Judith drank Cola and Margreet Fanta.

7月18日の朝には次の行く所に決めた。今日もイングリッシュマーケットに行った(1, 2)。あそこで美味しいサバを買った。夕べにホステルのキッチンで焼くときに皆は「美味しい匂い！」と行った。「イングリッシュマーケットで買った」。そして次の日の夕べに、他の人もイングリッシュマーケットで食べ物を買った！
夕ご飯後、ロンドンから来た2人の女子とジェイクと紅茶を飲んで話した。私は日本語の本を持ってきた（この本；何ヶ月前アムステルダムの古い本屋さんで見つけた、小さくて軽いから飛行機で持って行けると思った）。ロンドンの2人に見せた（言語について話したから）。日本語も右から左へ読めるのが分からなかった。アイルランド語のハリーポッターの本も見せた：コークの本屋さんで買った。その後ジェイクと2人はパブに行ったけど、私と彼氏は寝に行った。

In the morning of the 18th of July we decided on the places we wanted to go to next. went to the English Market. We bought delicious mackerel there. When we were baking it in the kitchen of the hostel in the evening, everyone said it smelled delicious. We said we had bought it at the English Market, and the next day many people had bought food from the English Market as well.
After dinner, we talked with two girls from Londen and Jake over some cups of tea. Upstairs I also showed them my Japanese book (which I had taken with me because it was small and light; because we were talking about languages) and that you could read Japanese from right to left as well, which they didn’t know. I also showed them the Gaelic Harry Potter, which I had bought in a bookshop in Cork. Afterwards Jake and the two girls from London went to a pub, but my boyfriend and I went to bed.

7月19日にブラックロック城に歩いた（5キロぐらい）。城には宇宙の博物館があった。宇宙と地球の生き物についての短いビデオが色々あった。城も天文台ですから。天文台に入れなかったけど。

On the 19th of July we went to Blackrock Castle, in which they had made a museum about space and life on Earth, with various short movies on the subjects. The castle also houses Blackrock Observatory, which we could not enter.

７月２０日にバスでキラーニに行った。１時間半の旅行で色んな写真を撮った（上の写真に２枚がある）。ジェイクも同じバスでキラーニへ行ったけど、他のホステルで泊まっている。私と彼氏はルイスハウスと言うB&Bで泊りつもりでした。コークのホステルからここへ電話したけど、ルイスハウスに誰もいなかった。そして携帯でまた電話した。「１０分待つと誰かが来る」と答えた。１０分以上待っていたと誰も来なかった。そして所有者から電話が来た。「サラトーガハウスに行ける？他のB&Bです。同じ値段」。質問でしたけど選択がない･･･サラトーガハウスへ歩いた。あそこで人がいた。カバンを自分の部屋に置いておいてB&Bを出てキラーニの市内で歩いた。夕ご飯はB&Bのキッチンで作った。

On the 20th of July we went to Killarney by bus. On the 1.5 hour trip to there, I took several photos (of which you can see two on the photos above). Jake also went to Killarney by the same bus, but he stayed at a different hostel. My boyfriend and I went to a B&B called “Lewis House”. Even though we had called them from the hostel in Cork, no-one was there. We called them by cell phone and they said there’d be someone coming in 10 minutes. We waited longer than 10 minutes and still no-one had come. Then the owner called us and asked if we could go to the Saratoga House (another B&B), for the same price. Even though it was a question we didn’t really have a choice, so we walked there. In the Saratoga House were people, so after we dropped our bags in our room, we left again to walk around in Killarney. We cooked dinner in the B&B.
