メデューサ合唱部の冬コンサート／Medusa Winterconcert 2017: “Tales from the Tundra”

22日（金）にはメデューサ合唱部の冬コンサートが大学であった！とても綺麗なコンサートになった。下のビデオはコンサートで撮った。

Op vrijdagavond 22 december vond het winterconcert van Studentenvrouwenkoor Medusa plaats in het Academiegebouw van de Universiteit Utrecht. Onder leiding van onze dirigente Iris van ‘t Veer en samen met pianist Rik Helmes en cellist Remco Woutersen hebben we een heel mooi concert neergezet!

On Friday evening the 22nd of December, Medusa;s winter concert took place in the Academiegebouw, one of the buildings of Utrecht University. It was a very pretty concert, conducted by Iris van ‘t Veer with accompaniment on the piano by Rik Helmes and on the cello by Remco Woutersen. Below are some recordings of the concert.

メデューサ女子合唱部の夏コンサート／Zomerconcerten van Medusa / Medusa summer concerts

6月５日はメデューサ合唱部の小さなコンサートが大学の建物であった。コンサート後は庭で写真を撮った。
16日は大きな夏のコンサートはユトレヒトのドーミニカス協会であった。
次のビデオは協会で撮った。
私は両方のコンサートで着たドレスを自分で作った・・・

Op 5 juni hield Studentenvrouwenkoor Medusa een klein concert in Parnassos, een gebouw van de Universiteit Utrecht. Na het concert gingen we ook nog even naar de tuin om daar wat foto’s te maken!
Het grote zomerconcert was op 16 juni in de Dominicuskerk te Utrecht. De opnames hieronder zijn bij dat concert gemaakt.
En natuurlijk had ik bij beide concerten weer een zelfgemaakte jurk aan 😛

On June 5th, Female Students’ Choir Medusa held a small concert in Parnassos, a building owned by Utrecht University. After this concert we went to the garden to take some photos!
The large summer concert was at June 16th in the Dominicus Church in Utrecht. The videos below have been recorded during this concert.
Of course in both concerts I was wearing a dress I made myself 😛

10月18日の練習、「写真を撮る」コースをしていたメレル・ハークマンスはメデューサ合唱部で写真を撮りに着た！
Op dinsdagavond 18 oktober kwam Merel Hurkmans, die in Parnassos een fotografie-cursus volgt, foto’s maken bij onze Medusa-repetitie!
On Tuesday evening October 18th, Merel Hurkmans (a student who’s doing a photography course) came to our choir practice to take some photos!

メデューサ合唱部とカルチャーナイト / Medusa op de Culturele Avond in TivoliVredenburg / Medusa at the Culture Night in TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht

今週は入学生のために大学・ユトレヒト市などの導入があった。12時から16時まではマーケット（去年と同じ）、19時半からは
ユトレヒトのコンサートホール「TivoliVredenburg」（ティヴォリ・ヴレーデンブルヒュ）でカルチャーナイトがあった。
このカルチャーナイトで、ユトレヒト大学の音楽部はプレゼンテーションが出来た。勿論メデューサもいた！私と二人のメデューサの友達と一緒に沢山の新しい大学生と話した。
そして窓から見えたユトレヒト街も綺麗だった!

Deze week is het de introductieweek voor nieuwe studenten in Utrecht. Gisteravond 17 augustus vond de Culturele Avond van de Utrechtse Introductie Tijd plaats in TivoliVredenburg. Overdag was de UIT-markt (net als vorig jaar) en ‘s avonds waren er allerlei muzikale activiteiten te vinden in TivoliVredenburg. Studentenvrouwenkoor Medusa stond samen met de andere muziekverenigingen van de universiteit bij een informatiekraampje. Daar stond ik natuurlijk ook bij 🙂 We hebben gezellig met mensen gesproken en onze nieuwe flyers uitgedeeld. Het uitzicht was ook heel mooi, zeker toen het donker begon te worden!

This week is the introduction week for new students in Utrecht. Yesterday evening August 17th, there was a Culture Night in Utrecht’s music hall TivoliVredenburg. At this Culture Night, all music clubs of Utrecht University could present themselves. During the day there had been an information market at the campus (just like last year) and in the evening there were a lot of cultural activities in TivoliVredenburg. Of course my choir Medusa was also present! We were at the information tables with the other music clubs of Utrecht University. We talked to a lot of people and handed out our new flyers. And of course the view over Utrecht was very pretty, especially when it started to get dark!

“Light the light”: メデューサの冬コンサート/ Medusa’s winterconcert / Medusa winter concert

12月11日（金）はメデューサ合唱部の冬コンサートだった。
5人だけで合唱部はちょっと小さいけど、コンサートは良く歌えた！
チャペルも小さかったからちょうどいい大きさだった。

Op vrijdag 11 december hielden we met Studentenvrouwenkoor Medusa ons winterconcert. We waren maar met vijf personen, maar het concert ging toch heel goed! De kapel was ook klein, dus eigenlijk was die precies de goede grootte.

On December 11, we had our winter concert with Student Women’s Choir Medusa. We were only with five people, but the concert went very well anyway! The chapel was small too, so actually it was exactly the right size location.

午後の6時、ユトレヒト駅でコンサートのプレビュー公演をした。私は緑のセーターと黒いドレスは自分で作った。セーターは去年に作った。ドレスは先月を作った。
Rond 18 uur gaven we een voorproefje van ons concert bij de piano op station Utrecht Centraal. Mijn groene trui en het zwarte jurkje heb ik zelf gemaakt. De trui vorig jaar, het jurkje vorige maand.
Around 6 PM we gave a preview of our concert at Utrecht Central Station. I made my green sweater and black dress myself: the sweater last year, the dress last month.

今週は入学生のために大学・ユトレヒト市などの導入があった。
メデューサ女子合唱部で、火曜日と水曜日は忙しかった！
火曜日には、大学の文化会舘で音楽部はコンサートをした。3人で、小さなコンサートをした（夏コンサートの色んな歌を歌った）。この文化会舘で、メデューサは毎週練習をしている（夏休みには練習がないけど）。
水曜日には、入学生のために大学の部活はマーケットでプレゼンテーションした。

火曜日の大学の文化会舘で、メデューサのパンフレットなどがあった。

Deze week vond de Utrechtse Introductie Tijd voor aankomende studenten plaats. Studentenvrouwenkoor Medusa heeft ook nieuwe leden nodig, dus dinsdag en woensdag ben ik druk bezig geweest met promotie!
Op dinsdag vond het “Cultureel Cafe” in Parnassos plaats. Parnassos is het culturele centrum van de Universiteit Utrecht, en is ook de locatie waar Medusa elke week repeteert (niet in de zomervakantie natuurlijk). Hier hadden we ‘s avonds een half uurtje om iets te vertellen en hebben we een aantal stukken van het zomerconcert gezongen. Omdat we maar met ons drieën waren, konden we natuurlijk niet alles zingen.
Op woensdag stond ik de hele dag op de UIT-markt (op het sportveld naast de Botanische Tuinen op de Uithof). We hadden vanalles op de kraam gelegd: CDs en programmaboekjes van voorgaande concerten, bladmuziek van afgelopen zomerconcert, Fruitella-snoepjes in de kleuren van Medusa (paars en groen, en nog een paar extra gele snoepjes), foto’s van onze koorreis naar Marseille en natuurlijk de nieuwe flyers die ik heb gemaakt.

This week was an introduction week for new students in the city of Utrecht. Female students choir “Medusa” also needed more members, so I was busy with the promotional activities on Tuesday and Wednesday!
On Tuesday there was the “Cultural Cafe” in Parnassos, the cultural centre of Utrecht University. This is also the place where Medusa practices every week (not in the summer holiday). In the evening we had half an hour to tell the public a bit about Medusa and we sang several songs from our summer concert (not everything, as we were only with three people).
On Wednesday, there was the market where all student organizations had a stand to present themselves to the new students. We had brought a lot of things with us: CDs, sheet music, sweets in the Medusa colours (purple and green, and some extra yellow ones), photos of our choir trip to France, and of course the new flyers I made.

6月に、メデューサ女子合唱部の夏のコンサートがある！
11日（木）には「トライ・アウト」のコンサート：ピアノと歌う歌だけ。時間は２０～21時、住所はKruisstraat 201, Utrecht(「Parnassos」と言う建物で)。入場料なし。
19日（金）には夏のコンサート：全部の歌を歌う！このコンサートは綺麗なAcademiegebouw(ユトレヒト大学の本部棟)である。時間は20時から（22時ぐらいまで）、住所はDomplein 29, Utrecht。入場料は12ユーロ（普通）か8ユーロ（18才以下、65歳以上、大学生）。

In juni vindt het zomerconcert van Studentenvrouwenkoor Medusa weer plaats!
Op donderdag 11 juni is het try-out concert. We zingen dan alleen de stukken met piano. Van 20 tot 21 uur kun je gratis komen luisteren in Parnassos (Kruisstraat 201, Utrecht).
Op vrijdag 19 juni vindt het grote concert plaats: dan zingen we alle stukken! Dit concert vindt plaats in het mooie Academiegebouw (waar ook mijn bachelordiploma-uitreiking plaatsvond). Dit concert begint om 20 uur en duurt tot ongeveer 22 uur. Het adres van het Academiegebouw is Domplein 29, Utrecht. De toegangsprijs is 8 euro voor mensen jonger dan 18 en ouder dan 65 en voor studenten. Voor de andere bezoekers is het 12 euro.

In June, Utrecht’s female students’ choir Medusa will be giving a summer concert again!
The try-out concert is on Thursday June 11th. We’ll only be singing the pieces with piano accompaniment. It starts at 8 PM and ends about 9 PM. The location is Kruisstraat 201, Utrecht (in the building called ‘Parnassos’) and there’s no entrance fee.
The big concert will be on Friday June 19th: then we’ll sing all pieces! This concert takes place in the pretty Academiegebouw (the same location as my bachelor’s graduation ceremony). This concert starts at 8 PM and ends around 10 PM. The Academiegebouw’s address is Domplein 29, Utrecht. The entrance fee is 8 euros for people younger than 18 and older than 65, and for students. Other people pay 12 euros.

修士の卒業式 / Masterdiploma-uitreiking / Master’s Degree Graduation Ceremony

今年の3月に、人工知能の修士の卒業式があった。この前、コンピュータ学と言語学の学士をした。コンピュータ学の卒業式の写真もこのブログにある。
論文はオランダ語・日本語の機械翻訳の問題について書いた。
最後のことは去年に11月にしたから、12月から仕事探し（修士をしているときにもちょっと探した）。
早く見つけたから、1月から仕事をした。
卒業式の日は半分休みを貰った！16時で始まったから大丈夫だった。
今の仕事はウェブサイトのフォームを作るから、そんなに面白くない。
でも、早く仕事が見つけたのは良い！

In maart dit jaar was de uitreiking van mijn masterdiploma van mijn master Cognitieve Kunstmatige Intelligentie. Hiervoor heb ik de bachelors Informatica en Taalwetenschap gedaan, waarvan de informaticabacheloruitreikingfoto’s ook hier op mijn weblog staan. Mijn scriptie had ik geschreven over het probleem van automatisch vertalen tussen Japans en Nederlands.
De laatste dingen had ik afgerond in november, dus daarna ging ik hard op zoek naar een baan (tijdens mijn scriptie was ik ook al op zoek). Het ging heel snel, want in januari kon ik al beginnen bij een bedrijf! Het is niet echt interessant werk, namelijk formulieren op de websites van een bedrijf maken (met achterliggende berekeningen). Wel weer prettig dat ik snel fulltime werk had!
Voor mijn diploma-uitreiking kreeg ik dus een halve dag vrij van mijn werk, wat wel goed was aangezien de uitreiking om 4 uur ‘s middags was.

I got these pretty flowers!

In March, the graduation ceremony for my Master’s Degree in Cognitive Artificial Intelligence took place. Before this, I did the bachelors Computer Science and Linguistics (the CS graduation photos are on my weblog here). I wrote my thesis on the problem of machine translation between Japanese and Dutch.
I finished the last things in November, so after that I seriously went on a job search (though I had already been looking at jobs while writing my thesis). It went very fast, as in January I could already start at a company. It’s not really interesting work; making website forms for a company, including the calculations behind those forms. It was nice that I found a fulltime job quite quickly!
For my graduation, I got half a day off from my work, which was good as the graduation ceremony started at 4PM.

Vandaag was de UIT-markt op de universiteitscampus. Ook Medusa (het Utrechtse studentenvrouwenkoor, al hoef je niet perse student te zijn) stond hier weer met een kraampje.

At the university campus today, there was an introductory market for new students. Medusa, the female students’ choir in Utrecht (though you don’t necessarily have to be a student) also had a stand at the market.

今日は大学のキャンパスで「大学の入学マーケット」があった。このマーケットで、すべての部活などがある。メデューサ合唱部も（ユトレヒト市の女子生徒合唱部、でも「生徒」は必要じゃない）。

Medusa geeft elk jaar een winter- en een zomerconcert, meestal in een kerk. Ook nog wel 1 of 2 kleinere concerten op een andere locatie.

Every year, Medusa gives a winter and a summer concert, almost always in a church. Medusa gives 1 or 2 smaller concerts at another location as well.

毎年の冬と夏に、メデューサのコンサートがある、殆どいつも協会の中で。他の所でも１つか２つの小さなコンサートもある。

En nog wat foto’s van een repetitie! Deze foto’s zijn gemaakt in de winter van 2009, maar er is niet zoveel verschil behalve de mensen… Medusa repeteert elke donderdagavond in Parnassos. Met iets van driekwart jaar ertussenuit, zit ik er in september 8 jaar bij 🙂

Except for 3/4th year, I’ll be starting my 8th year with Medusa in September 🙂

春の花 / Lentebloemen / Spring flowers

昨日（火曜日）、大学の庭で桜の木が見つけた！知らなかった・・・卒業式の建物の庭だった。
今日も大学のキャンパスでクロッカスの写真を撮った。クロッカスは私が一番好きな春の花ですけど、このブログにはまだクロッカスの写真がなかった！

Gisteren (dinsdag) zag ik ineens kersenbloesembomen staan in de tuin tussen het Academiegebouw en de Trans! Ze bloeien hier nog eerder dan in Japan, waar het vorige week nog sneeuwde (ik kreeg bericht dat er 7 cm sneeuw was gevallen… terwijl het hier alweer redelijk warm aan het worden is).
En ook een foto van de krokusjes op de Uithof 🙂 Aangezien krokussen toch wel mijn favoriete lentebloemen zijn en er nog geen foto van op mijn weblog stond.

Yesterday (Tuesday) I suddenly noticed there were cherry blossom trees in the university garden! They’re blooming here even earlier than in Japan, where it was snowing last week (I got a message that there had been 7 cm of snow there, while it is already becoming quite warm here…).
And also a photo of the crocuses at the university campus 🙂 Because crocuses are my favourite spring flower, but I didn’t have a photo of them on my weblog yet.
