ユトレヒト駅の無料図書館／”Boekspot Hoog Catharijne” in Utrecht / Book spot at Utrecht Central Station

今年の２月まで、ユトレヒト駅で、小さな図書館があった。本当の図書館じゃない：ここは無料で本を持って行くことと置いておくことが出来た。
ユトレヒト駅（電車）から「Hoog Catharijne」と言うショッピングセンターへ歩いて、この「Boekspot」と言う小さな図書館が見えた。

Op Utrecht Centraal was er tot in februari van dit jaar ook een minibieb, namelijk “Boekspot Hoog Catharijne“! Dit is natuurlijk geen echte bibliotheek, maar een plek waar je gratis boeken mee kon nemen en neer kon zetten.
Je kwam erlangs als je vanaf het treinstation van Utrecht Centraal richting winkelcentrum Hoog Catharijne liep.

At Utrecht Central Station there was also a Little Library, called “Boekspot Hoog Catharijne”, but it was removed in February of this year. This is not a real library, but a place where you could take books with you for free, and also leave your own books behind.
You passed this Boekspot when you walked from Utrecht Central Station (train station) to the Hoog Catharijne shopping centre.

デュッセルドルフの本屋さん / Düsseldorf boekwinkel / Düsseldorf bookshop：Grauert

デュッセルドルフの駅で沢山のお店がある。例えば・・・本屋さん！駅の本屋さんは小さいだと思うけど、この本屋さんはとても大きい！
面白い本も見つけた（私はドイツ語も簡単に読める）：ケルスティン・ギアの『紅玉（ルビー）は終わりにして始まり』と『青玉（サファイア）は光り輝く』、そして通訳がない本『Das große Los』（世界旅行について）。

Op het station van Düsseldorf zijn echt veel winkels te vinden, waaronder ook een boekwinkel! Van boekenwinkels op stations verwacht ik dat ze redelijk klein zijn, maar dit was echt een grote boekwinkel! Ik kocht hier drie boeken: de Duitse uitgaven van “Robijnrood” en “Saffierblauw” van Kerstin Gier, en het boek “Das große Los” van Meike Winnemuth. Dit laatste boek is niet vertaald en gaat over een journaliste die een loterij heeft gewonnen en met dat geld een wereldreis gaat maken. Haar Duitse weblog over die reis is hier te vinden.

Inside Düsseldorf station there are really a lot of shops, including a bookshop! I expect bookshops in train stations aren’t very big, but this one was! I bought three books here: the German editions of “Ruby Red” and “Sapphire Blue” by Kerstin Gier, and the book “Das große Los” by Meike Winnemuth. This last book has not been translated into any other language. It’s about a journalist who has won a lottery and uses this money to travel around the world for a year. デュッセルドルフで、沢山の日本人が住んでいる：７０００人ぐらい。だから日本料理のレストランが色々ある。日本語のカラオケも見たことある！そして1つの日本語の本屋さんがある：TAKAGI。この本屋さんで普通の本・コミック・おもちゃなどを売っている。ここで売っている本は高いけど、古いコミックの値段は大丈夫だった。だから古いコミック2冊を買った（渡瀬悠宇の「まんが遊戯」と垣野内成美の「恋水蓮 5」）。

In Düsseldorf wonen ongeveer 7000 Japanners, dus vandaar dat er veel Japanse restaurants te vinden zijn. Ook heb ik een Japanse karaoke-bar gezien (die op dat moment gesloten was). En er is natuurlijk ook een Japanse boekwinkel: TAKAGI. Hier verkopen ze boeken, strips, knuffels, speelgoed, etc. De boeken zijn best wel duur, maar de tweedehands strips hadden wel normale prijzen. Daar heb ik er dus twee van gekocht: “Manga-yuugi“, een boekje over hoe je strips kunt tekenen gebaseerd op de “Fushigi Yuugi“-serie, en deel 5 van de serie “Koisuiren” getekend door Narumi Kakinouchi.

Düsseldorf has about 7000 Japanese inhabitants, so there are lots of Japanese restaurants. I also saw a Japanese karaoke bar (which was closed when I saw it), and of course a Japanese bookshop: TAKAGI. Here they sell books, comics, plushies, toys, etc. The books are quite pricey, but the secondhand comics were sold for more normal prices. So I bought two of those: “Manga-yuugi“, a book on how to draw comics based on the “Fushigi Yuugi” series, and part 5 of the “Koisuiren” series drawn by Narumi Kakinouchi.

去年の11月１８・１９日からユトレヒト駅で『ハリー・ポッター』の本屋さんがある！１月26日まで駅である。売っているものは（英語とオランダ語の）本・お菓子・ノート・服（Tシャツ、マフラーなど）・フィギュア・枝・など。本屋さんのフェイスブックで他の写真がある。

Vanaf vorig jaar 18/19 november staat er op station Utrecht Centraal een Harry Potter boekwinkel! Deze winkel staat er tot 26 januari.
Ze verkopen alleen maar Harry Potter spullen: boeken (Engels en Nederlands), snoep, notitieblokjes, kleding (T-shirts, sjaals, etc), plastic figuurtjes, toverstokken, etc. Op hun Facebookpagina hebben ze nog meer foto’s staan.

Since last year 18/19 November there’s a Harry Potter shop at Utrecht Central Station! This shop will be there until January 26th.
They only sell Harry Potter-related items: books (English and Dutch), candy, notebooks, clothing (T-shirts, scarves, plastic figurines, wands, etc. On their Facebook page there are more photos.

デュッセルドルフで沢山の本屋さんがある。
一番大きな本屋さんは『Mayersche』と言う本屋さん：6階もある！
何も買わなかったけど、見るだけも楽しかった！ドイツ語の本のカバーはとても綺麗だと思った。

In Düsseldorf zijn er best wel wat boekwinkels te vinden, maar de grootste is wel de “Mayersche” aan de Königsallee: 6 verdiepingen vol!
Ik heb niets gekocht, maar het was wel erg leuk om daar rond te wandelen. De Duitse kaften zijn best wel mooi namelijk.

In Düsseldorf there are quite a few bookshops, but the largest one is the “Mayersche” situated at the street called Königsallee: 6 floors full of books!
I didn’t buy anything, but it was fun to walk around there. German book covers are often quite pretty!

オランダ語の『ハリー・ポッターと呪いの子』／”Harry Potter en het vervloekte kind” in het Nederlands / Dutch edition of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”

11月18日、夜の24時。
本屋さんはオランダ語の『ハリー・ポッターと呪いの子』の本を売り始めた。
前は英語の本のリリースに行ったけど、真夜中だったから遠い本屋さんには行ってなかった。１８・１９日のリリース・パーティーにはハウテンの駅の近くにある本屋さんに行った。

Op 18 november om 12 uur ‘s nachts mochten boekhandels de Nederlandse versie van het achtste Harry Potter boek gaan verkopen! Eerder was ik al naar het feest rondom de Engelse uitgave geweest, maar omdat de Nederlandse uitgave om 12 uur ‘s nachts verkocht zou gaan worden, ging ik naar een boekwinkel die iets dichterbij was.
Vandaar dat ik dus op 18/19 november in de Read Shop in Houten foto’s stond te maken van het openen van de doos vol met boeken 🙂

On November 18th at midnight, bookshops were allowed to start selling the Dutch edition of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”! In August I went to the release party for the English book, but because it would be midnight I didn’t go to a bookshop that far away.
That’s why I was taking photos of the opening of the book box in the Read Shop in Houten 🙂

『ヴァン・ピーレ』の新しい鞄／Nieuwe tas bij de Van Piere / New bag available at the Van Piere bookshop

12月17日から、私が描いた絵の鞄が出来た！
『ヴァン・ピーレ』の本屋さんで貰った。5冊の本も入れた。
本屋さんで４.９５ユーロで買える（６００円ぐらい）。

De tassen met mijn ontwerp zijn gedrukt! Op zaterdag 17 december ging ik naar de Van Piere in Eindhoven om te kijken hoe ze zijn geworden 🙂 Ik kreeg zelf een tas gevuld met vijf boeken (plus nog wat extra tasjes), maar je kunt de tas bij de Van Piere kopen voor 4,95 euro.

The bags with my design have been printed! On December 17th, I went to the Van Piere bookshop to see what they looked like. I also received one of those bags filled with five books (including some extra bags), but you can buy one for yourself at the Van Piere as well (for 4.95 euros).

10月1日（土）にはエイントホーヴェンの一番大きな本屋さん『ヴァン・ピーレ』へ行った。
この日には二つのことがあった：1番目はかばんのデザイン・コンテストの結果！ヴァン・ピーレは新しい意匠文字で新しい鞄を作りたい。このためにデザインコンテストがあった。私の絵が勝った！勿論、鞄がまだ作っていない。作ったら、写真をアップロードする！
2番目は：ジュリー・カガワ(アメリカの作家）が来た。忙しかったけど、署名を貰った！

Op zaterdag 1 oktober ging ik naar de grootste boekwinkel in Eindhoven: de “Van Piere”. Daar waren die middag twee activiteiten: de Amerikaanse auteur Julie Kagawa kwam signeren, en er was de prijsuitreiking van de tassenontwerpwedstrijd! De Van Piere wil namelijk linnen tassen maken met hun nieuwe logo en voor de afbeelding hadden ze een ontwerpwedstrijd uitgeschreven. Ik had gewonnen, dus mijn tekening komt straks op de Van Piere-tassen! De tassen zijn er nu nog niet, maar zodra ik ‘m heb zal ik wel weer wat foto’s op deze blog zetten.
De rij voor Julie Kagawa was best wel lang, dus ik sloot pas na de prijsuitreiking aan in de rij. Ik heb zowel een handtekening voor mij als voor Nakita gevraagd (zij kon niet komen) en natuurlijk ook een foto met Julie Kagawa 🙂

On Saturday October 1st I went to the largest bookstore in Eindhoven: the “Van Piere”. There were two activities that day: American author Julie Kagawa held a signing session, and the results of Van Piere’s bag design contest were announced. Because the Van Piere is going to change their logo, they want to print new bags. I won, so my drawing will be on their linen bags! Of course the bags haven’t been printed yet, so I’ll upload photos when I have one.
Many people wanted their books signed, so I got into the line after the contest results were announced. I did get signatures and a photo with Julie Kagawa 🙂

ユトレヒトにあるミニ図書館 / Een minibieb in Utrecht / A mini library in Utrecht

生地市場の隣にある『Pauwstraat』と言う道で、ミニ図書館がある！オランダ語の本も英語の本もこのミニ図書館にある。無料で本を持っていける。そして自分がもう欲しくない本を持ってたら、ミニ図書館で置いていける。

In de straat naast de stoffenmarkt, de Pauwstraat in Utrecht, hangt een minibibliotheek aan een hek! Vorig weekend haalde ik daar een boek van Steven Pinker uit (“Het taalinstinct“) en eerder ook al “Boy 7” van Mirjam Mous en “Hyperion” van Dan Simmons.
Ik heb deze minibieb ook aan Librarything toegevoegd!

In the street next to the fabric market, a street called the Pauwstraat in the city of Utrecht, there’s a mini library attached to a fence! Last weekend I found Steven Pinker’s “The language instinct” (in Dutch) there, and earlier the Dutch book “Boy 7” (by Mirjam Mous) en the English book “Hyperion” by Dan Simmons.
I also added this mini library to Librarything’s database!

本屋さんの「ハリー・ポッター」イベント / “Harry Potter”-feestje in Donner / “Harry Potter” event in Donner bookstore

7月31日は「ハリー・ポッター」の誕生日だったから、新しいハリー・ポッターの本がこの日からお店で買えた。オランダの色んな本屋さんで、「ハリー・ポッター」のイベントがあった。
私はロッテルダムのイベントへ行った。このイベントは「ドンネル」の本屋さんであった。
新しい本は英語だけ：「Harry Potter and the cursed child」、日本語は「ハリー・ポッターと呪いの子」。オランダ語の本は11月に発売される（日本語版と同じとき）。
本屋さんで、新しい本も前のハリー・ポッターの本を売っていた。そして他のもの：コップ、フィギュアー、映画の忍びの地図、など。
本屋さんの入り口はキングスクロス駅の9と3/4番線の入り口に変わった。
お店でハリー・ポッターの世界のものが沢山あった：天井から飛んでいる本といすと傘とか。ホグワーツの旗。箒。グリフィンドールの入り口。
「ハリー・ポッター」の世界のコスチュームを着ていた人が沢山いたけど、私も友達も「ハリー・ポッター」のコスチュームが持っていない。友達は「ハリー・ポッター」のTシャツを着た。私は前に作ったドレスを着た。ちょっと八リーポッターらしい・・・？
家へ帰って、2時間半ぐらいで新しい本を読み終わった。楽しかった！

Op 31 juli was de verjaardag van Harry Potter, dus vanaf deze dag kon je het nieuwe Harry Potter boek in de winkels kopen. Verschillende boekhandels hadden iets georganiseerd ter ere van het nieuwe boek. Zelf was ik naar Rotterdam gegaan, omdat boekhandel Donner hun halve winkel in “Harry Potter”-thema had omgebouwd!
Het nieuwe boek heet “Harry Potter and the cursed child”. De Nederlandse versie komt pas in november uit (de Japanse versie trouwens ook) en het is het script van een toneelstuk wat vanaf 30 juli in Londen speelt.
Ze verkochten natuurlijk ook alle oudere Harry Potter boeken, evenals spulletjes: bekers met Harry Potter-afbeeldingen erop, de Sluipwegwijzer zoals die er in de films uitziet, plastic poppetjes van de personages, etc.
De ingang van de winkel hadden ze veranderd in de ingang van Perron 9 3/4 en ook binnen in de winkel was vanalles te vinden: zwevende boeken, stoelen en een paraplu aan het plafond, de vlaggen van de afdelingen van Zweinstein, bezemstelen, de ingang van Griffoendor (soort van), etc.
Er liepen ook heel veel verklede mensen rond, erg leuk om te zien! Ik had geen Harry Potter-kleding, dus ik had een groene jurk aangedaan die ik eerder had gemaakt (ook een beetje Harry Potter-achtig?) en Nakita (zij had de foto’s waar ik op sta gemaakt) droeg een Harry Potter T-shirt.
Zodra ik thuiskwam heb ik het boek binnen 2,5 uur uitgelezen. Ik vond het een heel leuk boek 🙂

On July 31st it was Harry Potter, so from this day onwards the new book was for sale in stores. Several bookstores in The Netherlands had organized an event. I went to Rotterdam, because the Donner bookstore had transformed half of their store into a “Harry Potter”-themed store!
The new book is called “Harry Potter and the cursed child”. The Dutch and Japanese editions will be published in November. It’s not a normal book, but the script of a play that has started on July 30th in Londen.
Of course there was also Harry Potter merchandise for sale: cups with Harry Potter images, the Marauder’s Map from the movies, figurines, etc.
They had transformed the entrance of the store into the entrance of Platform 9 3/4 and inside the store there were also many “magical items”: floating books, chairs and an umbrella, the flags of the Hogwarts Houses, broomsticks, the Gryffindor entrance (kind of), etc.
There were also quite a few people dressed up as characters from the Harry Potter world. As I didn’t have any Harry Potter clothing, I decided to wear a light green dress I made before (it would fit into the Harry Potter world?) and Nakita (who made the photos of me) was wearing a Harry Potter T-shirt.
As soon as I got home I finished reading the book (in about 2,5 hours total). I really enjoyed reading it 🙂
